They have now been developed in Turkish style baths with temperature-controlled water piped in. Adjacent temples are worth a visit. # Day 04 - Manali- (Solang Nullah) – Rhotang Jot - Jispa - 180 Kms
This is when we really start getting serious! On with the riding gear (helmets, scarves, gloves…) for a dawn start. We might start as early as 0700 Hrs. Initially the drive is through the town of Manali, thus a constant speed of 30 to 40 Kms will be maintained. Palchan is the place where we will be crossing the Traffic control post (TCP). The ride is easy going at this stage. After Palchan we will head for Solang, the junction of many famous treks & expeditions. The drive is through the wooded forest with glaciers & Snow covered peaks dominating the horizon- Immediately climbing steeply up through the clouds we will reach Rohtang Pass (Literary means Mound of Skulls). Rohtang La is appx 58 Kms from Manali. The Abundance of greenery and trees dramatically decreases to arid landscapes as we ascend the height. laater ride to Jispa - (Bivouac) Camping – Jispa

# Day 05 - Jispa - Sarchu - 140 Kms
Leaving behind Jispa hamlet, a drive of 15 Kms will reach us to Darcha. Note this fact that around any habitation area generally one finds the road condition is bad. All major treks for Ladakh & Zanskar range are launched from here. The drive is easy going and finally we cross to consecutive wooden bridges. From Darcha the road clings to a hilltop mountain & is congested with traces of unmetalled road and barren landscapes.A further 40 Kms gets us to Baralacha La (pass) - 4830M. The route till we cross over Baralacha is bad. Once through we will be crossing over into the Zanskar range, one of the remotest regions of the world. Amazingly, some part of this sector is closed and not accessible by road for 9 months in a year even in this modern world. Sarchu - (Bivouac) Camping

Day 06- Sarchu 4253 M– Brandynullah 4280 M – Pang LACHUNGLA – 5065 M – Tsokar 4268 M. 180 Kms

The journey between Sarchu & Brandy Nallah is refreshing. It is a windy area and the road is absolutely metal led for 35 Kms. We can plan to speed sometime even 80 Kms per hour, but be cautious of the road bumps. Remember to Never speed on the unseen stretch as the road is of an up-down nature and some times the middle of the road rises like a hump and the sides depressed due to poor soil configuration. Thus always be alert.
Further forward we move to cross a small settlement at Brandy Nallah (the wind mind to remind for an ounce of Brandy!) Much as one would like no brandy for flows from the Nallah.Ahead of Brandy Nallah starts the region of Gata Tops. There are 21 hairpin road bends and we will find a lot of trucks loaded and awaiting a second breadth. Be cautious of the trucks sometime reversing. The hairpin bends are poorly maintained and while navigating ensures you are driving in first or second gear only and be gentle on the curves. The road from the top of the Lata tops till Lachung la pass is generally metal led with a few unmetalled tracks in between. As we are ascending we will be operating the bike in 2 or 3 gears only -At this altitude the Enfield as well as we may have slight difficulty breathing the rarefied air - there’s not a lot of oxygen up here! It’s also very cold, so after the obligatory photographs it's down the other side to our picturesque Campsite at Tsokar tonight. (Safari Camp) – Bivouac .
Day 07 – Tsokar 4268 M – Tsomoriri 4267 M – Hemis Monastery - Appx 270 Kms.
0700 Hrs on the ride -start early morning in the dirt track of sand & unpaved road we shall cross a deep but minor river crossing with freezing cold water & than ascend Polokangla a small humped pass a distance of 22 Kms subject to weather condition’s can be at time be challenging enroute there will be Changpas to greet us &than it is remote ride to reach Sumdo village another Kms 21 this stretch one has to be more cautious on the Himalayas Dogs they ideally move with the herd’s of the Sheep & goat thus by there protective nature they are aggressive to the Alien machines & than we proceed to Tsomoriri bed another 43 Kms all pebbled, rocky & sand this area it is highly advisable to be in group as the land is of the shepherds though the Folks are Large hearted & accommodating but the Shepherd’s dogs are mean &very possessive of there territory area thus aliens like us are not very attractive to them for kind attention – hence at times they might chase the bike as the sound is not very comfortable to there mental peace - "Tsomoriri" Aquatic body of fresh water houses the rare Bird Species " Black Necked Crane's - O/NT Camp at Hemis Monastery across the Indus River Bank.
(Safari Camp) - Bivouac
Day 08 - HEMIS – CHANG LA – 5,183 M – PANGYONGTSO – Hemis - 180 KMS- We start early 0700 Hrs will be ideal to be on road with first sun light warming up the weather to cover a challengeable distance of 250 Kms its back to the road as we head towards Pangyong Tso. Ascend the height of the world's third highest motor able pass Chang la. The road is generally paved with few stretches of the unmetalled patches to start with but as we cross over the pass there are several stretches where the road disappears dramatically. This is a landslide prone area, and coupled with the wayward mountain streams deciding to change course at will, at times you will find yourself driving over a whitish stone filled track. It is a totally sandy terrain as we approach the lake and a real test of nerves as you find yourself crossing one of the toughest streams of this route ,Well... once you get to there you will forget the tough ride, the maniacal streams and the cold...To find such a huge expanse of calm blue water at that altitude! It's definitely worth the ride.By Late evening we are back at the Camp for overnight stay. (Bivouac)
Day 09 - Hemis - Thiksey - Spituk Monastery - 160 Kms Local Sight Seeing & Leh Town -Proceed back to the main road axis riding back again the Thiksey Gompa is a dramatic monastery clinging to the side of a hill and eerily similar to Lhasa’s Potala Palace in Tibet. A Fifteen-meter tall statue, made of clay, resides in the most picturesquely situated Gompa. In front of the statue a large bowl of wax with a central flame representing divinity and purity burns. This is replaced once in a year. Local craftsmen and represents Maitreya (Buddha of future made the statue). The prophecy made is that the world will undergo chaos and he will teach compassion to people. We now proceed to legendary Leh, the Ladakhi capital and a stunning oasis in this otherwise desolate area. Red colored Zanskar mountains (zanz means copper, Kar is white) of this copper rich belt feed the sacred Indus River, source of all life in this region. O/nt Hotel

After a short break we will move on to reach the Nubra Valley. Its a fantastic ride over fairly good, paved roads most of the time -
Camp for overnight stay. (Bivouac)
